About this event
Our selection this month is, "A Short History of Nearly Everything" by Bill Bryson. We'll be discussing our book at a venue that is sure to spark even more interest in the history of our planet!
We'll be meeting at the Central Cafe of the Natural History Museum at 10:30 on Monday, October 4th. The Cafe is in the center of the museum in the "Blue Zone" closest to the entry on Cromwell Road, London SW7 5BD.

There are atmospheric alleys and hidden passages along the way. See where the Wellington Boot was invented, where Churchill bought his cigars and the oldest independent family perfumers in the world who have provided fragrances for the famous and the Royal Family.

What recipes and home remedies have you been living on during this Covid pandemic time to stay healthy?
Join us in person with Giji Galang, a fellow ACS Hillingdon parent, who will be demonstrating a few of her favorite family recipes: Filipino Arroz Caldo (chicken rice stew) & Vietnamese Pho (beef bone broth, noodle soup) Gluten-free, dairy-free (can be vegan with simple ingredients swap).
Learn the basics for putting together simple ingredients to create incredible nutritious meals for you and your family. You will discover how mindfulness can be practiced in the kitchen to infuse aloha (love) into your food. A gift of sound healing will also be provided to also support us in all of our senses.
Art With Mary P - Mayfair Galleries
Wednesday, 13th October,
October is the biggest art month in London! Galleries pull out all the stops, as Frieze Art Fair is in town. Take the guesswork out of choosing exhibitions, and the intimidation out of visiting galleries by joining for a selection of top exhibitions.
Our tour this month will celebrate top women artists working today, including Marina Adams (picture above). We’ll visit four galleries featuring paintings and sculptures, and even a jewellery maker. And always a convivial lunch afterwards!

Follow devilish clues, answer questions, find objects hidden in plain sight, to win the final treasure. Are you quick enough? Are you smart enough? Do you have the eyes of an eagle and the cunning of a fox? Will you take up this challenge? Final treasure awarded to the winner at the end.

We will enjoy an elegant two-course meal at Dans Le Noir, where we’ll appreciate our senses by dining in darkness while being served by those with seeing disabilities.
